The VMC 5-speed transmission is a wonderful option to make engines with peaked power characteristics very drivable. For this purpose, the transmission has been completely redesigned and sensibly graduated. The spread (bandwidth) of the transmission has been slightly reduced, so the gears are closer together.
STEPS
VMC gear 1+2 => longer than Piaggio gear 1+2
VMC gear 3+5 => same length as Piaggio gear 3+4
VMC gear 4 => between Piaggio gear 3+4
The first gear is already usable as a full driving gear (not only for starting) due to the extension. The higher the gear is selected the lower the gear jump. This gives you a very nice driveable engine that does not fall out of the power band even at high speeds. On the other hand, in case of increased driving resistance (incline, strong headwind), you can simply shift down a gear without the engine overrevving.

Fits original Piaggio crankcases as well as engine cases from other manufacturers that use the original gearbox. The auxiliary shaft uses the conventional clutch cone that fits all clutch hubs on the market.
The gearbox has been tested with powerful engines, but due to the necessary narrower components, we recommend its use in engines up to 25HP.
